Unidas
Car Subscription
A vehicle subscription product at a large car rental company, with backlog management, commercial innovation and a hands-on technical role in the squad.
Before
A subscription product needed to grow in the mobility market with a competitive offer, but backlog management and generating innovation for the sales team were the bottleneck.
Action
I managed the Unidas Livre backlog, generated innovations for the sales team and acted as the squad's technical focal point, collaborating on what and how to build with the development team.
Impact
A subscription product with a strategy-aligned backlog and active innovation channels, including participation in Livre Labs, a committee for mobility breakthroughs.
What I learned
- Product in an asset-based company means aligning offer, pricing and operations, not just software.
- Being the squad's technical focal point cuts noise between business and engineering.
- Institutionalized innovation (Livre Labs) unlocks initiatives the daily backlog never reaches.
Product inside a car rental company
Unidas Livre was a new product in a mature company. The challenge was cultural as much as technical: validating the subscription model in the Brazilian mobility market.
From backlog to innovation committee
Beyond product management, participating in Livre Labs showed how innovation needs its own space to be born outside the routine.
The technical bridge
As the squad’s focal point, I lived close to the value of translating business to engineering, a skill that became central again later in payments.
