Before

Many digital businesses depended on a single payment provider, suffering from downtime, high fees and limited approval, with no visibility into the billing journey.

02 · Action

Action

I shaped the vision for the payments orchestration product, coordinating squads, prioritizing smart routing and payment instruments, and bringing the data team closer to drive decisions by approval rate.

03 · Impact

Impact

The product now lets clients process meaningful volume across multiple payment routes, with more operational resilience and autonomy over their billing funnel.

04 · What I learned

What I learned

  • In payments, approval rate and resilience beat features: infrastructure is the product.
  • Orchestration is not just technology; it's business, risk and end-customer experience in one.
  • Growing from PM to GPM means letting go of direct control and growing teams, not just products.

The vision behind it

Here is where my product journey met my technical roots. Payments orchestration is a platform product: the value lives in availability, routing and approval rate, not in a pretty screen.

I worked to turn this segment into a product: data-driven prioritization, a medium-term vision, and an engineering team focused on the same goal.

What drives the decisions

In this market, each approval percentage point and each minute of uptime move clients’ results. Prioritization had to reflect that: stability first, differentiators later.

Looking ahead

The article I wrote, Why Payments Orchestration is a mandatory leap for digital businesses in Brazil, sums up the thesis I defend daily: autonomy over the payment journey stopped being a differentiator and became a competitive requirement.
